I love these guys! I love making hats, and I love amigurumi, and this is the best of both worlds! I get to make a hat, then put a little personality in to it and bring it to life! Ava loves hers, and the other orders I've made have all come out super cute and their owners love them too! I just relisted here!

blah
We've been sick since Saturday around here. Ava and I specifically. Eddie has been a trooper taking care of both of us, coming home during lunch to bring home wet ones and laundry detergent (put those together, and yeah, that kind of sick is going on here). It's been rough. Sick baby and sick mommy are not a good combo. I think the end is near though!

Edible Playdough
This recipe for edible playdough is so yummy and easy! This was Ava's first experience with any kind of playdough, so I don't know if that was a good or bad thing, it was in her mouth within 30 seconds!
Hmm...
Yum!
"Look!"
Cute bento picks!
Then we cleaned up with shaving cream (a fun way to get the peanut butter grease off of the table afterward).
She was saying "Bubble!"
And we needed a bath after this...

Whoo...loves you?
I've been resistant to the whole owl craze. Don't get me wrong, they're totally cute, just everywhere. But Ava needed a new hat for spring.
(Don't pay attention to the crazyness going on around her.)
For some reason finding an owl hat pattern was pretty hard, but I winged (wung?) it and I think Ava's happy with is. :)

And a skirt!
The craft ADD has it's grip on me. I can't stop thinking about sewing new projects now.
Here's the tutorial I used. So, the first attempt on this one turned out to be too small around the waist. (I don't think my knit has much stretch, or I didn't measure well because Ava is wiggly.) I followed the pattern to a T the first time, but after I ripped out the waist portion I just needed to get this thing done (I get crabby if something doesn't work out my way; but I also hate redoing stuff), so I laid the first (too small) piece over my material and cut the width again with an extra inch.
It's a little too big now, but at least Ava can grow in to it. I'm still so excited!

I made pants!
Over the past month or so, my sewing machine and I have become friends! Never would I have thought I was the mom that would make her daughter's clothes...but here I am! Ack...I'm *so* proud!
I used this tutorial. And it was so easy! However, I used one of Eddie's old t-shirts, and used the bottom hem as the end of the pants (so they are pants, and not tights like the tutorial is for). I also added a ruffle to the bottom. I *love* them!

Like it's my job...
I've been crocheting like it's my job (it is...kinda?). I am all about flowers and headbands right now. Indulge me for a quick second. :)
New listings in the shop.

St. Patty's Day Headband Tutorial
Measure your head. (I have a big head...)
Cut your material.
Make a fabric tube.
Tuck in the ends when you sew your tube. Turn right-side out.
Feed through your elastic.
Secure your ripple on the elastic with a stitch down the middle.
Overlap elastic ends and secure together. Also attach your flower/yoyo/doo-dad, whatev.
Cover up the craziness with a pretty felt circle. I used hot glue for this.
Tada!
Admire your work.
Put it on your daughter who will LOVE it!

Sesame Crafting
Most mornings after breakfast, Ava watches Sesame Street. This is when I get most crafting done. This morning I followed this tutorial. Super easy, super cute!
I put a few handfuls of rice in the bottom while stuffing and she sits very well. :)

Stroller Cover
Ava likes to sit in her doll stroller. She doesn't like to sit in her big stroller. I think this is normal behavior? lol. She tore up the (cheapo) cover that it came with, so I put my crafting-big-girl pants on (I was scared) and made her a new one.
All the pieces cut up and pinned.
Starting on the seat, scary!
Things are starting to look okay...not flat...like Bear might have somewhere to sit!
Then I got too excited and forgot to take more pictures until I was done.
I'm pretty sure I got a B in the sewing section of Home Ec. I don't remember much except the teacher scared me. I think this might be A work though right here!

Attitude Adjustment
Yesterday was not a good day. Man, my attitude was in the crapper. Eddie was awesome and took Ava to FPU alone, so I had 2 hours at home alone. <3 So I made a headband.
I love it, and I hope you do too! More are in the works now for the shop!

Changing it up!
Finally, I bought some blue fabric...to make things for little boys! Here's how that day panned out.
Ava coloring. She wanted to get up in her chair to color, so I knew it was going to be a good day to sew.
Coffee, essential.
So happy to use my new pins!
Cut the flannel, iron it up.
Every time I flipped over a panel I'd get a shock to see blue and not pink!
I kept laughing at my shock, it happened every time.
More creasing.
And ironing.
I don't iron, hardly ever. But I'm willing to get it out for crafty reasons.
And sew, sew, sew!
Tada!
