Funner Summer - Pool

Ava's got water wings and a duckie (pelican really...I think) ring this year for Mimi and Papaw's pool.  We went this weekend for the first time this year, and she learned how to float on her own (with the help of her water wings of course).  What a change from her clinging to me the whole time in the water.  Way to go big girl!

Insta-Friday!

I love my big fancy camera, but I also love my iPhone camera.  I love Hipstamatic, and I love Instagram (hello free app!).  Here's my week in pictures!

Ava cuddling up with a few books.  These books are about 20 years old.  Love being at my parents house and finding things I can remember playing with and reading.

And Ava loves a good book and a cuddle before bed.  But here Eddie and I were skyping before bed and I guess we were taking to long so she put herself to bed.  <3

I don't remember what Ava was eating, but I love taking pictures of her in the high chair.  The natural lighting is perfect!

And I haven't seen this in a while!

Ava getting some auntie lovin'.

And my sister is having a baby!  She's not due until December, but I already finished her first blanket.  I've already started on number 2.  I crochet too much.

And I love sleeping grass.  I don't care that it's a weed.  They have such pretty little pink dandelions!

I can't wait to do this again next week!  I'm linking up here!

Vay-cay!

It doesn't look like I mentioned it, but we're soaking up the warm weather in Texas for a few weeks to see my sister graduate from COLLEGE, and visit with family.

Ava loves the pool.

I love lounging poolside in a sarong.

Did I mention she really loves it?

Concentration.

She was splashing me with the sponge-ball.

"See?"

Totally loving it.

Perfect

I love when random stuff works out just right!  Last week we tried to go strawberry picking, but the dry spring they've had here in Texas closed down the public picking...bust.  But on the way home we stopped off for my first visit to Yogurtland since we've been back!  Woot!  (I love.love.love Yogurtland!)  And to top it off, my new Hipstamatic film which is pretty random with the edging colors  matches my fruity pebbles just right!  Made my day.

It's the simple things people.

...but I sure love to make stuff!

Looks like I took a blogging hiatus.  I thought of what to blog about often, but just never put a pen to paper (or finger to a keyboard?).  But I sure to love to make stuff!  Here's what I've been up to.

Two tiered circle skirt from Made.  I followed her directions, but don't measure too well so it came out super short, so instead of ripping out the first skirt I made, I added another longer tier underneath.

Jello pops made from a packet of gelatin.  I 1/4th-ed the recipe since the one on the box asks for 4 packets of gelatin, and froze them.  Super great because I used 100% juice instead of a pack of jello (which makes me feel all fuzzy inside even though juice is all sugar) and jello pops are awesome because they don't drip NEARLY as much as popsicles!

We started our garden.

The super baby shower gift for my sister in law to give.  Ava loved that monkey (the only ami she's really cared for) so I've made another on of those.

Here's a shot of that hat.

Cheezy bread bombs is what we're calling these!  I got the basic idea from Picky Palate's Mini Spinach Dip Bread Bowls.  I used the same dough, cut the rounds in half (because I had a mini muffin pan), sprayed the pan with EVOO, pressed the dough in, sprinkled some fresh minced garlic, a dash of Tony Chachere's, and about a tablespoon of cheddar cheese over each.  Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until they look golden.  Hello ooey gooey goodness.  I'm mad I ever made these, because I think of them often and eat too many!

Lasagna to go with our bombs, and this was Eddie's 30th Birthday dinner.  Yum!

Easter Eggs!

All of what we dyed this year.

Poseys in real life have sprouted!

New Bible cover for myself!

I took apart this tricycle that I got for $10 on craigslist and painted it purple and white for Ava's 2nd birthday.

And Blue's Clues cupcakes for her!

I think she liked it.
