Granny Chic

Last night I laid in my warm toasty bed for 6 hours.  I didn't sleep during those hours, because I had two other snorer's right next to me.  And I didn't want to get up incase sleep suddenly found me (ya right).  So I somehow got stuck on pin cushions, and stick pins.  Random right?!

Love these mini-pin cushions.  I asked the hubby to bring me home some plastic bottle tops.

Bonus, I already had everything I needed for this!  For my pin cushion I found a scrap of striped material and bunched it up, then covered it with a yoyo, and a couple of buttons.  I didn't wrap it with embroidery floss to make the "pumpkin" shape, and I like it better that way I think.  And super bonus, I already had tons of beads, pins, and E6000!  I used corsage pins (much longer than regular stick pins so I'd have extra space for beads) and "extra long dressmaker pins" (they are 1 5/16" without a bead on the end).  

And I love them!  My pin cushion looks so happy now!  I can't wait to sew something else up!
